‘Chhayanaut Dance Fest 1426’ concludes

Celebrating various classical dance forms of the subcontinent, Chhayanaut hosted an event titled, Chhayanaut Dance Fest 1426, at its auditorium in Dhanmondi, recently. The fest featured Manipuri, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Gaudiya, and Odissi dance performances by renowned artistes and dancers of the different organisations.

The evening began with Chhayanaut’s Vice President, Dr Sarwar Ali’s welcome address and was followed by a speech by the institution’s dance teacher Belayet Hossain Khan.

Manipuri exponents Samina Hossain Prema and Babrul Alam Chowdhury presented solo recitals at the programme. Chhayanaut’s Manipuri dance troupe, along with Academy for Manipuri Culture and Arts, Nrityam Nrityasheelon Kendra, and Dhrity Nrityalaya entertained the audience with group performances.

Nrittyachhanda performed Odissi whereas, Rachel Priyanka Perris enthralled the spectators with her presentation of Gaudiya dance.

Arna Kamalika, Amit Chowdhury, and Arthy Ahmed, along with artistes of Chhayanaut and Sristhi Cultural Centre, among other renowned dancers, executed spellbinding Bharatnatyam routines.

The open for all event concluded with mesmerising Kathak performances by Kathak Nritya Sampraday, Masum Hussain, and Rewaz Performers’ School.
