National Film Award-winning actor Chanchal Chowdhury started out as a theatre actor, before establishing a rightful place for himself in television and films. Currently, he is busy shooting for different projects. In a candid chat with The Daily Star, the actor shares his Durga Puja plans and more.

Each year, Chanchal  visits his home in Kamarhat village of Pabna, during the Puja holidays to spend time with his family. For the actor, Puja means going back to his roots.

"During the Puja holidays, going back to my village means spending time with my parents. That is the best feeling in the world to me," shares Chanchal.

On the Puja holidays, all his siblings come together under one roof from different parts of the country, to spend time with their relatives.

"This time of the year feels different because of the Puja festivities. In our village, everyone rejoices together," expresses the actor. "I used to run around the whole village as a kid during Puja and these memories are still fresh in my mind."

Chanchal usually follows a busy routine and so, he makes sure that he goes back to his hometown on this particular holiday.

This year, the festivities will be a bit different, due to the ongoing pandemic. The actor plans to stay home and not visit the mandap as much as he usually does. "We need to be careful while celebrating the occasion this year, as health always comes first," shares Chanchal, wishing everyone a safe and happy Durga Puja.
