Another Bangladeshi, Rahul Talukder, also got an honourable jury mention.

Abdul Momin, whose work regularly appears in media agencies around the world, has won more than 50 international photography awards.

Contacted, he said, "This award is important to any photographer, but my true pleasure is that I can represent my country to the world through my lens."

The awards ceremony was supposed to be held in Moscow (Russia) like every year, but was cancelled due to Covid-19.

Young photo journalists from 75 countries contested in the press photo contest this year, with around 5,000 submissions from around the globe.

The Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest is an annual contest for the young photojournalists aged between 18 and 33. It is organised by Rossiya Segodnya under the patronage of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.
