Bangladeshi artistes across the world raise awareness on coronavirus through ‘E Jatray Beche Gele’

Tony Dias was a prominent face in Bangladeshi television and films for quite some time. He has been residing in the USA for several years.

The actor was known for his recitation skills during his university days. He recently took an initiative with other expatriate celebrities to raise awareness on the coronavirus, through poetry recitation.

E Jatray Beche Gele, a poem written by Shahasra Sumon, reflects on hope and a dream for a better future soon.

The made-at-home video, featuring 22 artistes, was recently released on social media. Nawsheen Nahreen Mou is the initiator of the project.

Directed and produced by Tony Dias, eminent artistes Priya Dias, Jamal Uddin Husain, Qazi Utpal, Mohsin Reza, Tania Ahmed, Rumana, Afroza Banu, Monalisa, Richie Solaiman, Shireen Bakul, Mila Hossain, Khairul Islam Pakhi, Shamsul Alam, Shamim Shahed, Tamalika Karmakar, Srabonty, Dolly Zahur, Lutfun Nahar Lata, Adnan Faruque Hillol and Nawsheen Nahreen Mou among others, recited different lines of the poem for the production.

The video concluded with the artistes appreciating the frontline doctors, nurses, police officers, journalists and other key workers for their contributions during this time of crisis.
