“Artistes will rediscover themselves during this time”- Sujit Mustafa

Eminent Nazrul Sangeet exponent Sujit Mustafa is also one of the finest vocal trainers in the country. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the artiste has taken an initiative to teach his students from home. "Even though the true dynamics of a lesson might be compromised, it is for the safety of my students that I have decided to take my classes online," says the singer, who has previously offered online lessons to students abroad. "The exercises are student-specific, as the enrolled students can now find lessons that are relevant to their skill cap".

Sujit, who has been an active figure in raising cultural awareness among the youth, feels like the pandemic is a warning sign to the residents of the planet. "I first panicked a lot when I heard of this virus," he says. "However, you can see the planet recover itself during the time that we stay home. The Earth not only belongs to us, but every creature that inhabits it".  The artiste mentioned that it is crucial that we improve our ways after the pandemic is under control.

Amidst the negativity, Sujit Mustafa is certain that there will be positives that come out of the situation, especially for artistes. "Artistes will rediscover themselves during this time. Since there are no shows going on, they will sing and play from the heart."
