Arifin Shuvoo has captivated the audience with his charming personality and acting prowess throughout his successful career. The heartthrob won his first National Film Award for Dhaka Attack, recently. In a candid conversation with The Daily Star, he talks about his New Year resolutions, upcoming projects and more.

Wishing you a happy New Year and congratulations on winning the National Film Award for the first time. How do you feel?

Thanks a bunch, and happy New Year to you too! The National Film Award is the biggest prize for film actors, so, needless to say, I am very happy. I am grateful to the Almighty, my family, the writer, director and whole unit of Dhaka Attack. I would also like to thank my fans who motivate me to keep doing better.

Now that you have won such a prestigious award, do you feel that your responsibilities as an artiste have increased?

I have always been dedicated to my job, and this accomplishment has only boosted my determination to work harder.

What is your mantra for success as an artiste?

I believe, art cannot be formed with planning. I just follow my instinct. I don’t take-up many projects because I only want to be associated with stories that I truly like.

Tell us a little about your upcoming ventures.

Currently, I am busy with Mission Extreme. We have all worked very hard for this film. I can assure you that we will offer the audience something new with it. We hope to release the film during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

What are your New Year resolutions?

I want to eat lots of Hilsha fish this year! Apart from that, I will try to choose films more wisely.
