Apu Biswas’s mother passes away

Noted actor Apu Biswas's mother, Shefali Biswas, breathed her last at Labaid Hospital in Dhaka earlier today at 12: 40 am, while undergoing treatment.

"She was admitted in the COVID-19 unit of the hospital as she tested positive for the virus," Chowdhury Meher-E-Khuda, Public Relations Officer of Labaid Hospital, told The Daily Star.

Apu posted a status on her verified page on Facebook, confirming the death news. She requested her fans and well-wishers for their prayers. Shefali Biswas and her husband Upendranath Biswas together have three daughters and a son. Among them, Apu is the youngest. Shefali Biswas lived with Apu. In many interviews, the actor credited her mother for being her inspiration. Her mother was her dance teacher as well.

According to Zayed Khan, General Secretary of Cholochitro Shilpi Samity, Shefali Biswas will be taken to Bogura, where her last rites will take place.
