Afsana Mimi tests positive for COVID-19; admitted to hospital

Renowned actor and director Afsana Mimi tested positive for Covid-19, and is currently undergoing treatment at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital earlier today.

Journalist Nazrul Syed, A family friend of Afsana Mimi, confirmed the news to The Daily Star. "Recently after Afsana Mimi fell sick, she was tested for COVID-19 and the report came out positive," shares Nazrul Syed. "She tested positive at the end of last month and was under home quarantine since then."

"Other than a cough, she does not have any major problems," he added. As she was not recovering, she was admitted to the hospital today.

The noted actor is currently serving as the director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, she has been appointed on a contract basis for a period of three years at BSA.
