50 noted artistes render National Anthem on Bangladesh’s Golden Jubilee

In celebration of 50 years of Bangladesh's glorious independence and the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, 50 noted artistes gave their voice to a beautiful new rendition of our national anthem, "Amar Shonar Bangla". The Rabindranath Tagore classic, which was rendered by TM Productions under the direction of Kaushik Hossain Taposh, included artistes from the legendary Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, as well as popular and upcoming artistes.

"On the occasion of Bangladesh's 50 years of independence and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary, the ICT Division wanted to uphold our national anthem in a new light," says State Minister of ICT, Zunaid Ahmed Palak. "It is heartening to see the artistes from Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, who played a pivotal role in providing motivation during our liberation war, be a part of this project. I thank all the artistes for their participation."

25 male and 25 female artistes gave their voice to this rendition. The male artistes were Rafiqul Alam, Khurshid Alam, Fakir Alamgir, Mahmud Selim, Hamin Ahmed, Maqsoodul Haq, Hasan, S I Tutul, Sujit Mustafa, Balam, Robi Chowdhury, Mizan, Arnob, Milon Mahmud, Arifin Rumi, Adit, Parvez, Autumnal Moon, Shamim, Priyo, ABD and Pulak.

The female artistes were Shaheen Samad, Fatema Tuz Zohra, Abida Sultana, Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya, Shama Rahman, Fahmida Nabi, Dilshad Nahar Kakoli, Aankhi Alomgir, Elita Karim, Mehreen, Rumana Islam, Tashfee, Luipa, Dola, Reshmi, Tasnim Anika, Shithi Saha, Sunidhi Nayek, Tina Russell, Anima Roy, Oishee, Julie, Earnnik, Putul and Ayesha Moushumi.

"It is indeed a momentous and proud moment for us, as the government and ICT Division entrusted us with this responsibility," says National Award winning composer and singer, Kaushik Hossain Taposh. "The fact that so many noted artistes are here together makes this special".

TM Productions Chairperson Farzana Munny thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Advisor of ICT Sajeeb Wazed Joy and State Minister of ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak for the opportunity.

The video, shot outside the National Parliament House and the historic Sohrawardy Uddan, will be telecast on television channels and social media tomorrow onwards.
