12th International Inter University Short Film Festival (IIUSFF) concludes its opening ceremony

The 12th International Inter University Short Film Festival (IIUSFF), organised by Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS), in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), concludes today.

This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the official opening of this two-day festival was held on IIUSFF's official YouTube and Facebook pages, following the trend of this year's major global festivals.

The online opening featured the screening of award winning and officially selected short films from previous editions of IIUSFF in five slots. Additionally, an online live discussion session titled, 'Filmmaker in conversation with Film Journalist/Critic', featuring notable Bangladeshi film critic, scholar and journalist Sadia Khalid Reeti and renowned film-maker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki.

IIUSFF started its journey back in 2007 with the motto 'Take your camera, frame your dream.' The goal of IIUSFF has been to provide a platform for university students to materialise their cinematic vision, and to celebrate the growing arena of independent filmmakers from all over the world.

This year, with the 12th edition of IIUSFF, their remarkable journey has reached a new height, with a submission of a total of 2583 short films from 106 countries.
