Award Ceremony for Embassy of Japan's ‘Bondhutter Potaka’ held

Programme celebrated strong bilateral relations between Japan and Bangladesh

The award ceremony of "Bondhutter Potaka" Video Contest was held at the Japan's Ambassador's residence. Prominent Bangladeshi artists and media personalities, including noted singer and actor Tahsan Khan, DJ Rahat, Ashikur Rahman, CEO of RTV, Mozammel Hossain, Deputy General Manager of Deepto TV, and renowned journalist Rafi Hossain, among others, were present at the event.

The song "Bondhutter Potaka", written, composed and sung by Tahsan, celebrates the strong bilateral relations between Japan and Bangladesh and has also addressed the current crisis bought by the COVID-19 pandemic. The video has so far garnered more than 750,000 views on YouTube.

Young Bangladeshis have participated in the "Bondhutter Potaka" Video Contest. Four out of the lot were honoured with awards. The awardees are Shojol Ahmed (first), Amit Kumar Kundu (Tahsan Khan Award), Tithy Mazumer (DJ Rahat Award) and Nishat Anzum Talika (Rafi Hossain Award).

"Japan has been the biggest development partner of Bangladesh. The country has been making strides because of the hands of partnership Japan has extended," said Tahsan at the event. "With that, I truly believe this journey of friendship will continue get stronger as we move forward.''

Ambassador ITO congratulated the awardees and thanked Tahsan Khan and others for their contribution in making of the "Bondhutter Potaka", in his speech.
