The Chatga Express launched in Chittagong

“The Chatga Express”, an album of romantic songs by young singers from Chittagong was launched in Chittagong on Thursday evening.

All the 13 songs of the album were written by Jibok Barua. Devenronath Chattapadhai, Sabbir, Iftekharul Lenin and Amit have composed the songs. Of the songs, one is a chorus, three are solos and the others are duets. Eighteen young singers from Chittagong -- including Nishita Barua, Ronti Das, Swandipan, Sabbir, Rashed and Mun sung for the album.

The songs are “Sraddha”, “Purnima Chhui Chhui”, “Surer Kheya”, “O Swapan”, “Bolche Hridoy Jagche Asha”, “Gaane Gaane”, “Nishhashe Biswase”, “Sapure”, “Onubhab” and “Adore Joriye”. 

The launching programme held at a restaurant at Agrabad in the port city where the Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mesbah Uddin was present as chief guest.

Jibok Barua, the lyricist of the album presided over the ceremony. He said the album was launched with a view to provide the new artistes and singers of Chittagong a platform to perform at the national level.

The chief guest Mesbah Uddin said the effort of youth never fails. “Hopefully this effort of taking the Chittagong culture forward by the young people would not end in fiasco. The practice of art and culture is imperative to keep youths away from drug addiction,” he said.

Among others, singer Abdul Mannan Rana, Ostad Mihir Lala, Sanjit Acharya and Kollyani Ghosh addresses the ceremony.
