Tahmina Afrin's first album launched

Singer Tahmina Afrin, who has performed for national radio and television, released her debut album titled “Hridoypure Brishti” on Sunday. The album launch took place at Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, where renowned composer and music director Sheikh Sadi Khan was present as chief guest.

The late, great Lucky Akhand, who composed some of the songs in the album such as “Ami Bhulbona”, “Du'chokh Poraiya”, “Hridoy” and “ChaNder Bati” was honoured posthumously during the occasion, which was accepted on his behalf by his daughter Mum Minti Akhand. The songs were some of Akhand's final musical compositions.

Other guests present at the event included Director General of BTV and poet Asad Mannan, poet Mohammad Nurul Huda, eminent actor and elocutionist Bhaskar Bandyopadhyay, Registrar and Director General of the Department of Cooperatives Mofizul Islam and others.
