Sujit Mustafa performs at Chhayanaut

Noted singer Sujit Mustafa performed in a solo musical soiree at the main auditorium of Chhayanaut on October 2. The artiste performed a total of 27 songs at the event. He started off the soiree with a Nazrul Sangeet “Amar Duhkher Bondhu”.

Sujit Mustafa beautifully performed several Nazrul numbers including “Mor Priya Hobey”, “Porodeshi Megh” and “Priyo Jai Jai Bolona”. Later, he presented adhunik songs originally recorded by Manna Dey, Manabendra Mukhopadhyay and Talat Mahmood.

His repertoire included “Na Na na Aj Raat-e Ar”, “Kaharba Noy Dadra Bajao” and “Ami Aj Akasher Moto Ekela” (Manna Dey); “Bon-e Noy Mon-e Mor”, “Amar Hridoy Niye” and “Shey Tho Naam Dhorey” (Manabendra Mukhopadhyay) and “Je Ankhitey Eto Hashi Lukano” (Talat Mahmood).

The singer again rendered Nazrul Sangeet and mesmerised the audience with a ghazal-ang song “Gul Bagichar Bulbuli Ami”. Sujit Mustafa planned to wrap up the programme with the timeless song “Amar Jabar Shomoy Holo”, but the audience requested him to perform another popular song “Brojogopi Kheley Hori” and he did so.
