Meat Loaf, rock music all-time great, no more

The US singer and actor Meat Loaf, who is noted for his album "Bat Out of Hell", has died aged 74, his family and agent told The Guardian.

Cause of death could be known immediately.

The musician, born Marvin Lee Aday, breathed his last January 20. His wife Deborah was by his side during his demise.

"We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man," Meat Loaf's family said in a statement.

"From his heart to your souls … don't ever stop rocking!" the statement added.
