Tantidhatri begins in Kolkata today

Internationally acclaimed singer, musician and storyteller, Parvathy Baul is organising the third edition of the International Women's Performing Arts Festival, titled Tantidhatri, to be held from January 15-20, at Rabindra Tirtha, Rajarhat in Kolkata. The participating artistes, from 15 countries, include esteemed entities such as Parvathy Baul, Julia Varley, Jill Greenhalgh, amongst others. Several Indian and Bangladeshi folk singers are also performing at the festival, which will commence at 8 am daily with master classes by the gurus.

It is worth mentioning that Parvathy Baul attended the Transit Festival in Denmark in 2005 and was inspired to organise such an event in India. She previously arranged the festival in Puducherry in 2012 and in Bengaluru in 2015.
