Classical music festival concludes in Mymensingh

Mymensingh Zila Shilpakala Academy organised the second installment of its National Classical Music Festival recently.

The headliners of the event included Professor Sumita Naha and Ashik Sarker Tushar from Mymensingh; Latifun Julio, Priyanka Gope and Asit Dey from Dhaka; Riton Kumar Dhar and Taposh Dutta from Chattogram; Dr Writuporna Chakraborty from Narayanganj and Tapon Kumar Das from Netrakona. Performing alongside were Dr Rupashi Momtaz on violin, Sushen Roy on pakhawaj, Biswajit Natya, Proshanta Bhowmik and Dipankar Aich on tabla, Mohammad Motiur on sarangi, Dipon Sarker on chaturangi and Nishit Dey on sitar.

Earlier, Dr Subhash Chandra Biswas, Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh inaugurated the festival. Mymensingh's district cultural officer, Md Arzu Parvez, classical music maestro, Ustad Sunil Dhar, tabla maestro, Pabitra Mohan Dey, baul artiste, Sunil Karmakar and vice-principal of Nagarpur Govt College in Tangail, Ramendra Sundhar Bose were present, among others.
