Konal's 'Ekla Cholo Re' sends a strong message

Popular singer Konal has released a heart-warming music video of her rendition of Rabindranath Tagore's Ekla Cholo Re today. She particularly chose the day of Rabindra Jayanti because she feels that this is the perfect occasion to spread a very important message to everyone: “The song Ekla Cholo Re has always resonated with me”, says a confident Konal, “It has always made me feel better when I was down. This is why I wanted to use the message from this song and present it in a contemporary manner, and the video portrays the violence that is happening against women everywhere”.  The music video released today at 12 am to a lot of praise from critics and fans alike. The video gives a chilling account of the harsh realities that surround women, and it is bound to make you think about what they have to face in their everyday lives.  “I consider this not a music video, but video art. I am proud of the fact that I was able to do this”, says Konal. The music design of the project was done by Nirjhor Chowdhury, and the arrangement was done by Shahriar Alam Marcel.  The video was directed by Tanha Zafrin.
