Khairul Anam Shakil to perform at BNM today

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre has organised an evening of Nazrul Sangeet by eminent Nazrul singer Khairul Anam Shakil at Poet Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum in Dhaka at 6:30pm today. The artiste will perform songs from various genres like Kavyageeti, Rasa-based, Ghazal-ang, Islamic and Shyama Sangeet composed by our National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.   

The artiste will render a Ghazal-ang song “E Nohe Bilash Bondhu”, the raga-inspired song “Prothomo Prodeep Jwalo” (Patdweep), an Islamic number “Aye Moru Parer Hawa” and a Shyama Sangeet “Bol Rey Joba Bol” at the soiree.

Khairul Anam Shakil is one of the most well-known Nazrul Sangeet exponents of Bangladesh. His music combines artistic vocal skills with meticulous attention to the authentic compositions of Kazi Nazrul Islam. 

Shakil, a special grade artiste of Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar, is regularly invited to perform in Nazrul concerts in India, Canada, USA, UK and Australia. Shakil is also a member of the Trustee Board of Nazrul Institute and the Vice President of Chhayanaut Cultural Organisation, and a faculty member of the Department of Music, University of Dhaka.
