Kailash Kher, Nooran Sisters to perform at Folk Fest

The Dhaka International Folk Festival yesterday released its full list of performing artistes, a day after saying they would only announce international performers' names on the festival days. This year's international lineup will include popular Indian singer Kailash Kher – whose music has always had a strong touch of folk and Sufi elements, renowned Indian Sufi music duo Nooran Sisters, Pakistani qawwal Javed Bashir, Scottish Flamenco guitarist Simon Thacker, Spanish Flamenco duo Karen Lugo and Ricardo Moro, British musicians Susheela Raman and Sam Mills – for the first time at the festival. Last year's performers Paban Das Baul and Indian Ocean will also make an appearance.

Other performers coming in from India are Prosad and Raju Das Baul.

The festival is set to be held from November 10-12 at the Army Stadium, from 6pm to midnight every day. Free registration for the festival closed on Saturday, after registration capacity was full.
