Freedom fighters and songsters share the stage
Five singers receive awards
On March 23, a crest of honour was presented to the families and relatives of 16 selected Freedom Fighters of Bangladesh, at the Prothom Alo office in the capital's Karwan Bazar. The programme was organised by Robi and ABC Radio Fm 89.2. Apart from the event, rewards were in store for the five best singers from the competition “Tomar Gaane Dekhiye Dao!” along with their live performance.
Back in December 2014, Robi and ABC arranged the programme “Dekhiye Dao Bangladesh”, where 16 Freedom Fighters were brought into the limelight by honouring them with the title -- Super Hero. They also shared their experience of the events of 1971.
Along with this attempt, a competition was launched titled “Tomar Gaane Dekhiye Dao!” The youth were encouraged to send songs of their own lyrics, tunes and voice.
