Chanchal Khan's “Prangone Mor” hits audio market

The latest album by Tagore singer Chanchal Khan, “Prangone Mor”, was launched on April 18 through a ceremony and musical programme at The Daily Star Centre.  

Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman, eminent filmmaker Syed Salahuddin Zaki, columnist Dr. Muhammad Zahangir and Star Arts & Entertainment Editor Sadya Afreen Mallick were among the distinguished guests at the launching ceremony.  

Speaking about the album, Professor Anisuzzaman said “The variety of Tagore songs cannot be contained in one CD, but the singer has given efforts to fit those varieties in this album. He is an accomplished singer as he spent many years with the songs of Tagore.”

Sadya Afreen Mallick said, “Despite the fact that Chanchal lived abroad for 23 years he never left Rabindranath. Chanchal has put in much hard work to sharpen his musical skills.” 

Muhammad Zahangir said, “The album has a beautiful title and it makes me nostalgic. It is good news that such a brilliant album is out in Bangladesh.”

The singer presented a number of Tagore songs, starting with “Amar Hiyar Majhe” followed by “Aji Sajher Jamunay Go” and “Je Kebol Paliye Beray”. 

The singer continued to sing a few more songs including “Pothik Poran Chol Se Pothe Tui” and “Tumi Khushi Thako” before ending the programme with “Prangone Mor”. 

Popular actress and director Rokeya Prachi emceed the album launching ceremony. 

The album, produced by G-Series and marketed by Geetanjoli, is now available in the audio market.
