Bengal Foundation releases five Eid albums

Bengal Foundation has released five new audio albums marking this Eid-ul-Fitr, featuring prominent and promising artistes.

Bangladeshi Tagore singer Bulbul Islam has paired with Kolkata-based artiste Shrabani Sen in an album “Surer BaNdhoney” that features several prem parjaya songs  -- “BoNdhu Michhey Raag Koro Na”, “Amar Mon Maney Na”, “Shei Bhalo Shei Bhalo”, “Mon-e Robey Kina”. The artiste duo has also recorded two duets --“Ami Tomar Shongey” and “Bhalobashi Bhalobashi”.  Ashu Chakraborty has directed music arrangements for the album.

Promising singer Shemonty Monjari has recorded several lesser-known Tagore songs -- “Ami Jokhon TaaNr Duarey”, “Bahir Poth-e Bibagi Hiya”, “Bimol Anandey Jago Rey”, “Kaar Milon Chao Birohi” and “Aponarey Diye Rochili Rey” -- for the solo album “Dekho Rey Chittokomoley”. Protyush Banerjee has arranged music for it.

Singer Sifayet Ullah Mukul has recorded songs composed by three poets -- Atul Prasad, DL Roy and Rajanikanta -- for a solo album “Moder Gorob Moder Asha”. With music arranged by Durbadal Chatterjee, the album contains tracks like “Momo Moner Bijoney”, “Murli KaNdey”, “Aji Tomar Kachhey” and “Shokhirey Morom Poroshey”.  

For her solo album “Bhul Korey Bhalobeshechhi”, popular singer Fahmida Nabi has recorded several adhunik songs --“Ke Tumi”, “Joto Kotha”, “Bhul Korey Bhalobeshechhi”, “Ja Chole Ja” and “Jantey Cheyona Tumi”. With lyrics by Golam Morshed; Nipo, Sajib Das, Lucky Akhand and Fahmida Nabi have composed tunes for the album, while Ashu Chakraborty has arranged music for the album. 

Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar has eight popular Tagore tracks on his sarod. The album, titled “Sarod-e Rabindra Sangeet”, features tunes of songs like “Prothom Adi Tobo Shokti”, “Moharaj Eki Sajey”, “Aji Joto Tara”, “Aji Bijon Ghar-e”, “Neel Anjanghono” and “Je Chhilo Amar Swapnocharini”.

The albums are now available at popular music outlets in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet.
