Monirul Hoque gets Swedish fellowship

Monirul Haque, the publisher of reputed publishing house Ananya, has been awarded the Swedish Arts Council Fellowship 2015. As part of the fellowship, he will represent Bangladesh at the Gothenburg Book Fair in Sweden from September 23-28, says a press release.

Marking the fair, Ananya has published translations of poems by Swedish poet Tomas Tranströmer (by Muhammad Samad and Anisur Rahman). Monirul Hoque will participate in various activities during the fair, and exchange experiences with publishers from around the world.

This year, 21 publishers of 19 countries have been awarded the fellowship.
