Deepika Padukone played state level badminton till the 10th standard but she never considered taking it up as a career because she was never interested in a professional sport. So, she took up modeling as a hobby, but later realised she wanted to do it professionally. Her modeling career began with Liril Soap, Close-Up toothpaste, and a variety of odd jobs until Maybelline signed her as a lead model. She came to spotlight through the music video of Himesh Reshammiya's “Naam Hai Tera”. Deepika made her Bollywood debut with the blockbuster “Om Shanti Om” which earned her the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.
