Nusrat Faria making waves

Nusrat Faria is a relatively new face in filmdom but she has already  made waves with  her new film, “Badshah” released in Kolkata and Dhaka this Eid. Nusrat talked about her film and career plans to The Daily Star:

What response have you had to “Badshah”?

Faria: It has been doing extremely well at the box office. Viewers are flocking to watch it and the movie theatres are spilling over. This is very rewarding for me as an actress.

Where is “Badshah” being screened?

Faria: The film has been screened in 150 cinema halls in Kolkata, and around 50 in Dhaka.

Jeet is your co-star in the film. Are there a few words you'd like to share on your experience of working with him?

Faria: Jeet is well-loved in Kolkata and this is my first time working with him. He is a fine actor and very helpful towards his co-stars. I have learned a lot, thanks to him. Before starting any scene, he used to give me pointers and we would discuss things over.

Have you watched yourself on screen?

Faria: I haven't, as movie theatres are very crowded at this time. However, I am traveling to Kolkata soon, and I hope to watch it in theatres there.

Have you worked in any other films?

Faria: I have recently worked on “Premi O Premi.” Arefin Shuvo is my co-star in the film, directed by Zakir Hossain Raju. I have not worked on this kind of film before, and I am very hopeful about it.

Your work spans two countries so far. Is there a remarkable difference between working at home and abroad?

Faria: I have not noticed any marked difference, as we are all Bangalees.

How did you spend the Eid holidays?

Faria: I spent Eid with my loved ones at home and did not travel. I also spent a lot of time on Facebook and Twitter. It was a holiday spent in serenity and I quite enjoyed it.

Do you have any future goals set for yourself?

Faria: I do not want to work in the traditional fold. I am constantly challenging myself and would like to set new trends in our society.
