Sonia Hossain is a prominent actor, model, anchor and television personality. At the moment, she is busy with anchoring three shows, as well as many upcoming acting projects. The Daily Star catches up with the diva for a chat about her hopes for the year, current work and much more.

What are you busy with at the moment?

I just finished shooting a TVC in India for a liquid detergent brand. My co-star for the ad was Aman Reza, and it was directed by Sounak Mitra. The ad goes on air form next month onwards, and I am excited about it. I am a part of the upcoming film Ratrir Jatri by Habibul Islam Habib, which will release on February 15. Besides these, I am anchoring three separate television shows.

How difficult is it, anchoring three shows for three different channels?

To be honest, it is very demanding. However, I really enjoy my work. I have been anchoring one on Desh TV for the past four years, the other two are on Asian TV and Bangla Vision respectively.

Tell us about your start in the showbiz industry.

I started with modeling in the show You Got the Look in 2003. After starring in many commercials, I started acting. I garnered a lot of attention then, as I was a part of a lot of projects. I also acted in the film U Turn, directed by Alvi Ahmed. Nowadays, I am more selective in my work.

You are a model, anchor and actor. Which particular profession are you the fondest of?

Although each of them have their perks, acting is something that intrigues me because it has to come from within. As an actor, I want to live vicariously through my work in the hearts of the people.
