Rumana Rashid Ishita, a household name for the Bangladeshi audience, was an entire generation's torchbearer in tele-fictions and television shows. Yesterday, her song 'Tomar Janalay' was released on Channel i's YouTube channel.

Tell us about your song Tomar Janalay that was released yesterday.

Tomar Janalay is a soft-melody composition. Actually, I have been hoping to sing something like this for quite some time. A music video has been filmed for the song as well. It's a long time dream coming true!

You have made your comeback to the music industry after a long hiatus. What are your expectations with this song?

The lyrics for Tomar Janalay were penned by Sohel Arman. It was composed by Ibrar Tipu. We all collectively tried to create something beautiful. Of course, there are expectations. But it all comes down to the audience's response to it.

Do you plan on creating music regularly from now on?

I want to sing two to three songs at most each year. I have recorded vocals for another song already. I am about to do another one soon. However, I will definitely continue practicing music regularly.

The television fiction, Pata Jhorar Din, which you starred in, received praises from all over. What's your take on it?

When Redoan Rony, the director, told me the story, I instantly knew that it would touch people's hearts, but I didn't expect it to gain so much attention. It was a wonderful experience working with the team and the positive response simply added to the joy of it.

You became a favourite amongst viewers in Bangladesh through acting. How much do you miss it now that you're doing limited work?

I truly miss it a lot. Just the way the audience misses my acting, I miss it too. But people's priorities change in the course of life. Mine did too. I will continue doing one or two projects once in a while from now on.
