A breezy Eid for Aparna Ghose

Aparna Ghose is one of the most sought-after actors in television today. The National Award winner is now a household name, and has appeared in a lot of Eid projects this year. The charming diva talks to The Daily Star about her current work, future plans, and more.

How many projects have you starred in this Eid?

I have been featured in many tele-fictions this time. Some of them are: Classless Mochless opposite Afran Nisho, Amader Dinratri and Jomoj opposite Mosharraf Karim, Ahoto Beshi Ful o Shugondho Colony and Shadow, among others. I have also acted in two 7-part television dramas, one of which is Shobar Ekta Golpo Thake opposite Zahid Hasan.

You are often seen taking on new characters in your projects. Which ones did you enjoy the most this time?

All of them were unique in their own way. In Shadow, I play a school teacher. The story revolves around a schoolgirl getting raped, and how my character handles the situation. Ahoto Beshi Ful o Shugondho Colony is a story about people of poor socioeconomic status in the society, where my character has to fight for bread every day of her life, amidst many other troubles. The other projects I’ve worked in all have interesting characters.

How did you spend Eid?

I was in Chattogram, spending time with my loved ones. I also watched my tele-fictions and telefilms on TV, something that I rarely get an opportunity to do. I’ll also check out the work of my fellow actors and friends.

When will the shooting for your new film, ‘Gondi’, start?

It is scheduled to start in December. A little girl is supposed to star in the film, and her school ends in September. Indian star Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, who is also in the film, has also given his schedule at that time. I can say that I am very hopeful about this film, and like Bhuban Majhi, it will be a great one.
