Popular small screen actress Moushumi Hamid had a busy shooting schedule before Eid. Aside from acting in several television plays, the actress eagerly awaits the release of her debut film “Black Money” on August 7. Ahead of this milestone, she talked to this correspondent about the film and more. Excerpts:

What are your expectations from your new film?

Moushumi:  I'm excited and happy that my debut film is going to hit the screen. Since I get accolades from the television audience, I hope film goers will appreciate my efforts too. I have high expectations from “Black Money”.

Tell us about the film.

Moushumi: Directed by Shafi Uddin Shafi, the film will open countrywide on August 7. I play the lead role opposite Saimon.

Any more films in the pipeline?

Moushumi: Ananya Mamun's “Blackmail” will release on August 14. I played a key role in the film alongside Anisur Rahman Milon and Bobby. We shot a song for the film in Nepal. Also, I'm working on a new film titled “Protishodh”. Moreover, I'm currently shooting for a film with Shakib Khan, titled “Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini 2”.

How many plays did you do for Eid?

Moushumi: I did nearly a dozen plays for Eid. This time I worked with some prominent directors and the audience was happy to see me playing some very good roles.

Where did you spend Eid?

Moushumi: I spent Eid at my ancestral home in Tala, Satkhira. I loved celebrating Eid with my family and we had great fun together. Also my childhood friends paid me a visit during Eid; we hung out or played cricket -- a real treat as I remain busy throughout the year. Eid for me spells celebration and fun.
