“I want to satisfy the actor in me”

- Nawsheen

Beginning her media career as a Radio Jockey and an anchor for various television shows, Nawsheen is an accomplished actor in the Bangladeshi television industry. She is excited to work on various television programmes for Ramadan and Eid. The Daily Star spoke to her about her upcoming projects.

What is keeping you busy at the moment?

Nawsheen: I am focusing on both acting and anchoring. I have recently done some anchoring abroad. Right now, I am working as an anchor for a show on RTV, which will be aired during Ramadan. I am also working on two one-hour telefilms for Eid.

Tell us about your upcoming TV serials.

Nawsheen: There are two comedies that I am working on called Volume Ta Ektu Komaan and Daktaarpara. They will be aired on ATN Bangla and Asian TV respectively. I have completed shooting for another serial called Palki, and have done some episodes for Chirokumari Shongho.

Do you enjoy acting as much as anchoring?

Nawsheen:  People recognise me because of anchoring – it is something I really love. But I also really enjoy acting. I think it is important to do what you love.

How would you describe your dream role?

Nawsheen: I enjoy variety and doing something I have not done before. I want to portray characters that are well-rounded and challenging, and that will satisfy the actor in me.
