TRICKS OF TRADE

Bulbul Tumpa's journey towards modeling

Bulbul Tumpa, started her career when she was only 16 years old and coincidentally she has been a model for 16 years now. She also worked for the designer wear line “People's Tree” for two years. In a chit-chat with the Daily Star, she talked about her journey and what it takes to be a model.

“The glamour industry is now blossoming. During our time it was not so popular. The only professional models we saw displayed Aarong wear. And, I wanted to become one of them. I was lucky that one of my uncle's friends was a model and he gave me the opportunity to be a part of this glamour world.

“One of the foremost criterion to make it as a model is to have a good height and well maintained body. But that, too, is different for TVC and ramp models.

“No matter what your profession, a person should know how to sharpen their personality, body language and charm.

“I am still working towards perfection. There is no end to learning or grooming oneself, when you want to become a model. I have learnt a lot while working with international models. And not only that, one of the best compliments that I ever received while working with them was that I had an aura that put me in the spotlight.”
