Airin has had a strong foundation in showbiz. Aside from acting, she has also worked as a model and a TV commercial has garnered instant popularity with viewers. After a stint in television plays, she is now acting in films. The actress gave The Daily Star a glimpse of her life in front of the camera:

You have worked in several films. Which film marked a turning point in your life?

Airin: The film “Bhalobasha Zindabad”, directed by Debasish Biswas was released in 2013. Arifin Shuvo was the male lead. The film made me a known face and earned me a lot of fans. That is why I look on it as  the turning point in my career.

How many of your films have released so far?

Airin: “Bhalobasha Zindabad” was my first film. After that, I worked in “U-Turn”, directed by Alvee Ahmed. Following that was the Saif Chondon film “Cheleti Abol Tabol Meyeti Pagol Pagol.” Right now, “Ek Prithibi Prem” is up for release and I have also few finished other film projects.

What do you dream of achieving some day in your career?

Airin: All my dreams are centered on films. A film immortalises the actor; if it is a good film, it is something that lasts through the ages. I would like to focus on acting in films, and work on establishing a solid reputation for myself.

How often do you watch films?

Airin: I watch a lot of films. When I return home in the evening, I often retire to read a book or listen to music, but I always find time to watch movies. I watch movies produced within our country as well as abroad, and it is something I cannot live without.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Airin: I always wanted to be a model. I have always loved the work they do and years later, I was able to start my career in the modeling industry.

Tell us about your latest venture, “Ek Prithibi Prem”?

Airin: “Ek Prithibi Prem” has been directed by SA Haque Alik. He is a very talented director, and his film “Hridoy Kotha” was a box office hit. The film will, I am sure, move audiences to tears as well as laughter. I know that viewers will enjoy watching the films immensely.

Who are your favourite actors?

Airin: My favourites are Babita and Kobori. I know that these two figures are well loved by millions through generations, but I have always loved them, and consider them as inspirational as well as important role models in my own career.
