Actor and director Zahid Hassan marked his foray on television in the '90s, and since then he has played many acclaimed roles. The actor has also taken on film projects, and recently appeared in a West Bengal movie production for the first time. He has also directed a television series titled Don recently. Today, the popular star celebrates his birthday.

What plans do you have for your birthday?

I have cleared my schedule, and plan to stay at home with my family. We will have a simple and intimate celebration.

Who do you miss the most on your birthdays?

Birthdays are really just like any other day, but I miss my parents dearly.

Tell us about any birthday surprises that you received in the past from your children.

I have a son and a daughter. They surprise me at midnight with a cake, which we cut together as a family. They are always the first to wish me, which makes me happy.

How do you feel about turning 51?

Life is beautiful, and it is a gift to be alive. I live for this society, people, the country, and my family. Even after I am long gone, I would like to be remembered as someone who strove to do good work.

How was your experience working in your first ever Kolkata venture?

The film is titled Sitara, and we have recently completed its shooting. The story is adapted from Bhorer Proshuti by Abul Bashar. It is a wonderful piece of work, and I cannot wait for its release.
