I will miss my father dearly this Puja

Former Lux Superstar contestant Urmila has a whirlwind career. She will appear in two new single episode plays for Puja. But not everyone knows about the artiste as a compassionate humanitarian. She recently made a two-day stop at Cox's Bazaar to extend assistance to Rohingya refugees. In a recent conversation with The Daily Star, Urmila opens up about her Puja plans, and more.

“Last year was my last Sharadiya Durga Puja with my father. This year, everyone will joyously enjoy the festive occasion, but I am unable to do so. I will miss my father dearly, this time more so.”

“Every year my father and I made the rounds of different mandaps, but this year is a tragic exception. Since childhood, I would make these stops holding my father's hand, and it's something I continued doing even as an adult. I cannot put in words the sadness bearing down on me during Puja right now. I only ask for my father's blessings from the afterlife.”

“This time, I am going to spend as much time as I can by my mother's side. I'll accompany her wherever she needs to go.”

“I have countless memories of Puja with my father. The one I hold most dear now is the time we went to Tangail's Pakullai Thakurbari.”

“For Puja I have acted in two TV ventures. One is directed by Anjan Aich, which will be aired by Maasranga Television. The other play is helmed by Gautam Koiri, and it will be aired by Rtv on the eighth day.”

“During my time off I went to Cox's Bazaar to provide some assistance to Rohingya refugees. I am happy to be able to help those in need during Puja.”
