New trailer unleashed for 'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter'

Sony has unleashed the latest trailer for the sixth installment of its "Resident Evil" action-horror franchise, starring model/actress Milla Jovovich.

The teaser for "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter", shows Jovovich's amnesiac heroine Alice once again battling hordes of T-virus-mutated creatures and the sinister Umbrella Corporation, while unravelling her own mysterious past.

In what appears to be the final film for the franchise, Alice returns to Raccoon City and the Hive, where it all began nearly 15 years ago, although writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson has revealed that "The Final Chapter" is "almost like an origin story at the same time because we're finally revealing the truth as to who the Alice character is -- who she is, where she came from, what her true back story is" (via EW).

"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" is scheduled for release on January 27, 2016.
