“Star Trek 3” casts Sofia Boutella

Not many people in the US know Sofia Boutella by name. Instead, she's that girl with the samurai sword legs in “Kingsman: The Secret Service”. This could all change, however, with her next role. The 33-year-old French-Algerian actress-dancer has just been cast in “Star Trek 3”, and she has a major part to play. 

Deadline was the first to report the news of Boutella's casting, though details on which character she will play are not known at this time.

With “Fast and Furious” director Justin Lin at the helm of “Star Trek 3”, the third installment of the new reboot seems to be in pretty good shape. 

As the personal assistant/bodyguard to the villain Valentine (Samuel L Jackson) in “Kingsman”, she was on hand to handle any problem that might arise, including Colin Firth and his intrepid Kingsman agents.  She's been featured previously in a handful of films, including “StreetDance 2” in UK.
