Tanvir Mokammel begins shooting for 'Rupsha Nodir Baanke'

Based on Khulna's leftist politician's notable life events, film Rupsha Nodir Baanke's shooting has started. Directed by Tanvir Mokammel, the first lot of the shooting took place in Khulna, the second lot was shot in Cumilla, and the third lot will be shot in Dhaka central jail.

Rupsha Nodir Baanke reflects on significant events including Swadesi Movement, Tebhaga Movement, Khapra Ward Killing in Rajshahi. Protagonist Manob Mukhopadhyay will be played by Zahid Hossain Shovon, and the lead female, Urmimala, is played by Naziba Basher.

The film also stars Chittralekha Guha, Khairul Alam Shobuj, Ramendu Majumder, Uttam Guha, Pavel Islam, Rajib Saleheen, Afzal Kabir, Baishakhi Ghosh, Masum Basher and Mili Basher and child artists Hiya, Himi and Turjo. Chittralekha Guha is the casting and costume director, Syed Sabab Ali Arzu is the music director and Mahfuzur Rahman Khan is the cinematographer. Uttam Guha is the art director for the film.

Rupsha Nodir Baanke is a crowd funded film, and it is scheduled for release by the end of this year.
