Three noted actors cast in film on Bangabandhu

A film on Bangabandhu’s life, commemorating his 100th birth anniversary, is in the making as a joint venture by Bangladesh and India. Eminent director Shyam Benegal is directing the film.

The auditions are underway at BTV, and will continue till February 11. The casting is being coordinated by Baharuddin Khelon, Casting Director of BTV.

Prominent actor Khairul Alam Shobuj is set to play the father of Bangabandhu, Sheikh Lutfar Rahman. Dilara Zaman is cast as Sayera Khatun, Bangabandhu’s mother. Actor-director Tauquir Ahmed will play Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy in the upcoming film.

The name of the film, which will focus on four different chapters of the leader’s life, is not finalised yet.
