Nandita Das's Manto at Cannes Film Festival 2018

Based on the incidents of writer Saadat Hassan Manto's life, the film Manto has been chosen at the Cannes Film Festival. Directed by Nandita Das, the film which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the protagonist has been selected under the section, Un Certain Regard.

Tahir Raj Bhasin plays the role of Manto's friend Shyam Chadda, who was a Bollywood superstar in the 40's. Rasika Dusgal will be playing Manto's wife, Safia. Other actors of the film include Javed Akhtar, Paresh Rawal, Rishi Kapoor, Feryna Wazheir, Divya Dutta and many more.
