Mutants go to war in 'Apocalypse' trailer

An intense new trailer for “X-Men: Apocalypse” dropped during the Super Bowl, and things don't look great for those X-Men.

It does indeed look like the end of the world in the new look at the sequel, as the titular villain Apocalypse, played by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” actor Oscar Isaac, aims to end humanity. But the X-Men are ready for action.

“Let's go to war,” says Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.

James McAvoy's Charles Xavier has assembled some new faces to help out in the follow-up to 2014's “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, including Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) and Jubilee (Lana Condor).

But they have to face mutants like Olivia Munn's Psylocke, who is seen slashing a car in two in the air in the clip.

Along with Lawrence, returning cast members include Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Nicholas Hoult as Beast. “Apocalypse” marks Lawrence's last entry in the franchise.

The first trailer for the superhero film debuted in December. “X-Men: Apocalypse” hails from 20th Century Fox and is directed by Bryan Singer. It hits theatres May 27.
