Documentary of Anwar Chowdhury in Greece

'Borne Biborno (Pale in the Colors)', a short documentary film has been nominated in the International Short & Medium Length Movies Competition category of the 5th International Documentary Festival of Ierapetra Awards of Crete, Greece.

Anwar Chowdhury is the cinematographer, director and producer of the film. The film is produced by Du CINEMA. The 5th International Documentary Festival of Ierapetra Awards will be held from August 4-9.

Anwar Chowdhury says that the story is based on people celebrating the Bengali New Year. In the midst of the colourful and joyous occasion, a poor cobbler is found on a footpath. The cheerful ambiance does not seem to touch his heart or cover his pale helplessness to the least. The cobbler is then ordered to move out and he loses even the minimum scope of earning. Chowdhury tells a humane story in this film, using the style of observation and experimentation.

16 films from 10 countries are competing with Chowdhury's film in the International Short & Medium Length Competition Movies category. Borne Biborno (Pale in the Colors) will first be screened on August 5. Another screening will be held on August 7.

Borne Biborno (Pale in the Colors) is Anwar's sixth short documentary film. Previously, his films Joler Shilpamonjori (Waterworks) and Ruddho Koishore (Barren Dreams) were screened and highly praised in various national and international film festivals.
