“Dhaka Attack” set of October release

Police thrillers are one of the most popular genres of commercial films worldwide, and even neighboring Bollywood have been churning them out with great success in recent years. “Dhaka Attack”, the much-anticipated cop thriller that has been in the making for about two years now, has finally locked down a release date. The film's director, Dipankar Dipon revealed that the multi-starrer action thriller will land in theatres in October 6, and a wider international release later in the month.

The film stars Arifin Shuvo and Mahiya Mahi in the leading roles, and boasts a heavyweight cast including Syed Hasan Imam, Alamgir, Afzal Hossain, Laila Hasam, ABM Suman, Shatabdi Wadud and Nawshaba, among others.

Shuvo plays a daredevil cop with the bomb disposal unit in the film, while Mahi essays the role of a journalist.

Afzal Hossain, returning to the big screen after a long time, plays the Police Commissioner, while Shatabdi Wadud portrays another police high-up.

After its countrywide release in the first week of October, the film will also see a fairly elaborate international release on October 20, including four cities in Canada, six each in the USA and UAE, four in Oman, as well as in Qatar, Mayalsia, Singapore and Brunei.

The film's first look teaser was released last October. The fast-paced teaser didn't have any dialogues, but the rapid-cut sequences promised an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Action and chase sequences galore, and a bit of mystery thrown in helps add to the excitement that “Dhaka Attack” is looking to deliver.
