“Bhuban Majhi” releases first poster

Fakhrul Arefeen Khan's directorial venture “Bhuban Majhi” has been on the radar of film lovers of the country for a while, and the film gave them a new glimpse on Thursday, releasing its theatrical poster.

The film's promotional campaign has been gathering momentum in the past few weeks, with the release of the first full trailer early this month, and a couple of songs also revealed on YouTube. Although an official release date has not yet been announced, the signs point to a release not too far in the future.

A special promotional video of the patriotic DL Roy song “Dhono Dhanyo Pushpo Bhora”, sung by Shimul Yousuff, Bappa Mazumdar, Partha Barua, Konal, Sabbir, Salma and Bushra Shahriar was also recently recorded for the film.

“Bhuban Majhi” stars prominent Indian actor Parambrata in the lead role, along with Aparna Ghose, Mamunur Rashid, Maznun Mizan, Sushama Sarkar and Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, among others. The film, which switches between two timelines – 2013 and the Liberation War of 1971 – was the recipient of the 2013 National Film Grant.
