“Ankhi O Tar Bondhu Ra” concludes filming

Based on Mohammad Zafar Iqbal's novel, children's film “Ankhi O Tar Bondhu Ra”, directed by Morshedul Islam, has recently finished their last phase of shooting, which was done near a hilly area near Bandarban's Shonkho river. With most of the post-production work also done, including editing and dubbing, now the film is going through the colour-correction phase.

The film will be submitted for the sensor certificate early next month, while they are hoping for its countrywide release by December, next year. 

The titular role of the film, Ankhi, will be played by Jahin Nawar Huq Isha, and other characters will be played by Ananya Shamael, Juariya Ahmed Prottasha, Ariyana Kabir, Shakil Ahmed, Ayman Mahmud Ariyan, Abdus Shihab Apon, Syed Ashiquzzaman Romeo, Dhrubanti, and Navid Hasan Omi. Veteran actors Suborna Mustafa, Tariq Anam Khan, Al Mansur, along with SM Mohsin, Mannan Hira, Munira Yousuf Memi, Sushmita Sinha and others are also cast in the film.

Mahfuzur Rahman Khan has done the cinematography for the film, while the editing, sound and colour were done by Shujon Mahmud. The music was done by Swany Zubayeer.

A government grant-winning film, “Ankhi O Tar Bondhu Ra” is being produced by Monon Films and Impress Telefilm Limited.

This is the third film that Morshedul Islam is making based off of a novel by Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal. The first, “Deepu No.2” (1996) won the best child actor at the National Film Award. Then, in 2011, Morshedul Islam adapted Zafar Iqbal's novel “Amar Bondhu Rashed” into a film as well.
