Farid's solo photography exhibition at AFD

A solo abstract photography exhibition titled Surface, by Farid Shah, has begun at Galerie Zoom, Alliance Française de Dhaka. The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition took place on November 30.

Through his camera, Farid Shah looks at the surface surrounding us and tries to discover angles that may give way to interesting views.  Sometimes, he explores digital effects that might have strengthened the aesthetics of the surfaces or amplified the subliminal messages embedded in the images.

This is rather a modern form of photography that has not yet been exposed to a greater extent in the country. Farid Shah's photographs may seem abstract in nature; but a bountiful nature lies in the façade of the surface.

Farid Shah was born in Dhaka in 1966 and has been doing photography for the last forty years. The exhibition remains open to all from Monday to Thursday from 3 pm to 9 pm, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am to 12 noon as well as 5 pm to 8 pm. The show concludes on December 15.
