Ivy's ceramic exhibition opens at BNM

A solo ceramic exhibition by artist Akhtarun Nahar Ivy opened yesterday at the Nalinikanta Bhattasali Gallery of Bangladesh National Museum (BNM). Gallery Cosmos is organising the exhibition, says a press release.

Syed Abdus Samad, former Executive Chairman of the Board of Investment, Ahn Seong-Doo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh, eminent artist Hashem Khan and renowned historian Professor Muntassir Mamoon jointly inaugurated the exhibition. Enayetullah Khan, Chairman of Gallery Cosmos delivered the welcome speech, while Faizul Latif Chowdhury, Director General of BNM presided over the occasion.

Akhtarun Nahar Ivy has chosen clay as the medium for her art. Her works include terracotta compositions, ceramic paintings, glazed pottery of various shapes and sizes, and mosaic painting using terracotta and porcelain pieces. She has used colors, sketches and curving and brought up various dimensions through clay. The subjects of her compositions are people, nature and life in general.

The exhibition will run from October 2-10, everyday from 9:30am to 5:30pm, and 2:30pm - 7:30pm on Friday.
