Group art exhibition celebrating 11 years of Galleri Kaya

Galleri Kaya, one of the leading art galleries of Bangladesh, over the last 11 years has arranged many art exhibitions, art camps and workshops. A number of Bangladeshi and internationally acclaimed artists conducted the workshops. Celebrating its 11th anniversary, the gallery has organised an exclusive group art exhibition showcasing selected artworks by renowned and master painters of Bangladesh.

The exhibition titled, “11th Anniversary Exhibition” began on 5 June, and  features artworks by Bangladeshi modern masters --Aminul Islam, Chandra Shekhar Dey, Debdas Chakraborty, Dipa Haq, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Hashem Khan,  Kalidas Karmakar,  Monirul Islam, Murtaja Baseer, Nitun Kundu , Quamrul Hassan, Qayyum Choudhury, Rafiqun Nabi, Ranjit Das, Rashid Choudhury, Ratan Mojumder, Samarjit Roy Choudhury, Shahabuddin Ahmed, Shambhu Acharya, Shishir Bhattacharjee, SM Sultan, Tarun Ghosh and Zainul Abedin.

The exhibition showcases a selection of six oils, nine indigenous pigments, four acrylics, seven watercolours, eight brush, ink and pen works, three serigraphy, two woodcut prints, an oil on board, a gouache, one lithography, one pastel and a mixed media work done between 1973-2013.

The gallery has always invited well-known critics, historians, curators and painters from different countries of the world. It has particularly motivated the ever-growing community of established and upcoming Bangladeshi artists so that they are on a firm path to prominence and recognition.

Matiur Rahman, editor of the daily Prothom Alo, inaugurated the exhibition while eminent economist Dr. Binayak Sen attended the opening ceremony. The exhibition, opening from 11am to 8pm daily, will continue till June 26.
