Bipasha Hayat's solo painting exhibit in Italy

“Mindscape” at 3B Gallery in Rome

Bipasha Hayat may be best known in the country as a terrific actress of television, theatre and occasionally in critically-acclaimed films, but her academic background lies in the fine arts, and she has been an avid practitioner for many years. She has exhibited extensively in Bangladesh, and has participated in group exhibitions in USA, South Korea, Egypt and Vietnam, but now, she has an ongoing solo exhibit in Europe.

“Mindscape”, Bipasha Hayat's solo exhibition of paintings, opened on January 14 at the 3B Gallery in Rome, Italy.

At the exhibit, Bipasha's works enclose the emotions lost in memory. The artistic language is the means to represent her 'self', which aims to recreate a 'time-impression' of the past and then make it alive and present on the canvas. The brushstrokes and concise gestures are a symbolic way of entering into the very essence of the memory and to capture the emotions that are locked away inside.

Although most of her works at the exhibition are oil on canvas, she has also done a series of watercolour portraits. The artist will return to the country after her exhibition.

Bipasha Hayat was also recently awarded an honourable mention at the 17th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh.
