Anne Frank exhibit opens at LWM

A traveling exhibition titled “Anne Frank – A History for Today” opened yesterday at the Liberation War Museum (LWM) in the capital. The exhibition by Anne Frank Huis in Amsterdam, Netherlands has been funded by the Netherlands Embassy in Dhaka in partnership with Counter Foto and LWM.

Foreign minister AHM Ali and Dutch Ambassador to Dhaka Leoni Margaretha Cuelenaere jointly inaugurated the exhibition. Among others, LWM Trustee Board member Ziauddin Tareq Ali, Anna Malhotra of Seagull Foundation and Anne Frank Huis representative Priya Macharo attended the event.

A workshop on the life of Anne Frank, and the history of World War II and the Holocaust was also conducted as part of the exhibition, where 20 students and 20 teachers of various schools of Dhaka participated.

The exhibition- featuring the diary and family photo albums of Anne Frank, one of the most-discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust- has been traveling to 80 countries in the world, shedding light on the genocide during the Second World War.
